The ruggedly handsome actor-singer unbuttons his collar and rolls up his sleeves for an album of romantic jazz-tinged classics. Pasquale is best known for his work as fireman Sean Garrity on FX s critically acclaimed hit series Rescue Me and is currently starring on Broadway in the Neil LaBute play reasons to be pretty. The album will have an exclusive pre-release at iTunes on March 31 and will be available in stores on April 21.

It s always been a dream of mine to make an old-fashioned jazz record, says Steve. When we went on hiatus due to the writer s strike, I was afforded the time to finally sit down and do what I had always talked about doing. The CD, produced by John Pizzarelli and Jessica Molaskey, features Larry Fuller and Tony Monte on piano, Martin Pizzarelli on bass, Tony Tedesco on drums, Marcus Parsley on muted trumpet and John Pizzarelli on guitar.

Somethin Like Love finds him invoking his musical stage roots which include The Light in the Piazza, for which he created the lead role of Fabrizio, and his Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk-nominated performance in A Man of No Importance. He offers signature interpretations of some of the most enduring standards in the Great American Songbook. The twelve selections range from a haunting rendition of the David Raksin/Johnny Mercer gem Laura to a wistful In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning to a swinging starry-eyed On the Street Where You Live, to the title song, newly written by Pizzarelli and Molaskey. This alluring new album will surprise and delight his fans and win him many new ones.

Steve has a gift for singing rich, legato lines and has a sound that harks back to another time, while still feeling very much of the present, says Pizzarelli. The result is an intimate performance that s rare for an artist s first solo outing.

STEVEN PASQUALE is a Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award nominee for Lincoln Center s A Man of No Importance and currently starring on Broadway in Neil LaBute s reasons to be pretty. He has starred in LaBute s Fat Pig (MCC), Beautiful Child (Vineyard Theatre), A Soldier s Story (Second Stage), Spinning into Butter (Lincoln Center), and The Spitfire Grill (Playwrights Horizons). TV and film roles include HBO s Six Feet Under, Sofia Coppola s Platinum, Aurora Borealis, The Last Run, and Fox s hit AVP: Requiem. Steven was most recently seen in the Roundabout Theatre s A Little Night Music opposite Vanessa Redgrave, Natasha Richardson, and Victor Garber.

PS CLASSICS founded in 2000 by Tommy Krasker & Philip Chaffin, and a four-time Grammy nominee (for its cast recordings of Nine: The Musical, Assassins, Grey Gardens, and Company) has made significant contributions to the heritage of American popular song through its critically acclaimed cast recordings; solo albums by such luminaries as Maureen McGovern, Victoria Clark and Jessica Molaskey; and recordings drawn from rare sound archives, including Sondheim Sings.
